(Here’s a fun Spotify playlist I have curated of Christmas carols with a twist)

Cosy and chic, the Astoria throw brings one of Greg Natale’s signature patterns to a new decorative level.

The Astoria throw is another beautiful creation from Greg Natale’s Greco-Roman-inspired Astoria range, which features striking modern motifs that recall ancient designs. With its striking geometric pattern and classic colour pairing of black and white, the Astoria throw will bring an extra layer of elegance and comfort to any interior.

Available in three sizes – King, Queen and Double – it is the perfect accessory for your bed or sofa. Made in Peru from alpaca wool.

King (240cm x 130cm) – $505, Queen (220cm x 130cm) – $445, Double/ Standard Throw Size  (180cm x 130cm) – $395

Complete your coffee table with these new arrivals and must-have tomes.

“I love to entertain at Christmas, and having people over to make merry feels even more important this year after all the socially distanced months we’ve had,” says Greg Natale. “When it comes to setting the table, I like a monochromatic scheme, so I can mix and match my collection of dinnerware and accessories, then I’ll bring in some bling with the sparkle of glassware and metals. Eye-catching but elegant!”

Gather your nearest and dearest in the coming weeks and celebrate in style with a selection of entertaining must-haves from Greg Natale that will make this Christmas just a little more chic…

ART TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPACE

The perfect piece of art can completely transform a space. With this in mind, Greg Natale has created a range of original giclée prints that are made to order and will bring a welcome burst of colour and pattern to your home.

All the works are graphic and bold, inspired by the fabulous forms of the 70s, and available in a variety of colour ways and patterns suitable for any space. The CatalystL’Avenue and Luna collections have been designed to be curated together.

The works are printed on 350GSM Hahnemühle archival cotton rag using acid-free archival inks, with your choice of unframed or with a timber frame in black, white, silver or gold. Each work is embossed, signed, hand-numbered and limited to an edition of 50 per design.

FIND THE MISSING LINK TO STYLING YOUR TABLE WITH GIO PONTI

The Chains dinnerware collection features drawings from creative mastermind Gio Ponti– this mesmerising pattern was originally drawn by Ponti back in 1926 and has since been adapted by the skilled ceramicists at Richard Ginori 1735.

An emblem of modern geometry, the interwoven chains in black make for a sophisticated pattern on this dinnerware set, complete with a gold trim. The collection features everything from an espresso cup to charger plates and is perfect for displaying together to create an elegantly coordinated table setting.  See the complete collection online at gregnatale.com or in-store.

| THE MANY ATTRACTIONS OF MARBLE |

Nothing beats the natural appeal of marble, which lends itself beautifully to being sculpted into organic and striking forms. The Botta table (pictured above) and Aldo side table designed by Greg Natale are two timeless marble pieces that blend beauty and practicality into one.

BOTTA TABLE

The playful asymmetry and alternating monochrome marble discs of its base make the Botta equal parts a style statement and a beautiful side table. Botta is hewn from solid pieces of Nero and Bianco marble.

ALDO SIDE TABLE

Juxtaposed cylinders in solid marble make the Aldo side table a striking architectural piece. This mini monolith explores the intersection of line, pattern and colour. Formed from two solid blocks of Nero and Bianco marble for a strong monochrome mix, Aldo is also available in Merlot and Nero.

| BE BOOK SMART WITH ARCHITECTURALLY INSPIRED BOOKENDS |

These elegant pieces look good supporting your favourite coffee table books or as a feature in themselves. Palazzo takes its inspiration from the repeated arches of Rome’s Colosseo Quadrato, itself a homage to the Colosseum. Palazzo is available in four combinations of marble and travertine, as well as a new polished crystal version.

The Polar Bookends, informed by Oscar Niemeyer’s architecture, feature layered, cantilevered pieces of marble and come in two colour pairings: Bianco & Rosso and Fiore & Nero.

A key part of the brief for the Barwon River House in Victoria was to ensure an abundance of custom storage solutions for the client’s vast book collection. This included incorporating beautiful shelving in formal living spaces, the kitchen, children’s bedrooms and even the client’s dressing rooms.

LURLINE BAY HOUSE | A SOPHISTICATED SEASIDE ABODE

Greg Natale worked as interior designer and interior architect on this distinct four-storey, four-bedroom oceanfront residence, which offers a fresh take on beach house style. Its sophisticated palette, materials and layout have been beautifully tailored to suit its seaside surroundings.

The space is imbued with a serene lightness of look and softness of feel, its palette of grey, blush and teal subtly echoing the tones outside. Polished plaster ceilings suggest the fluidity of water with their high-gloss finish, while texture comes into play through furniture and wallpaper. A travertine staircase and wall are highlighted by brass railings, making it a striking central feature across the four storeys, with brass and gold trims continuing throughout the house.

Read more about the Lurline Bay House and other projects on Greg Natale’s new website.

Watch Greg Natale as he shares some of his ideas on how to use pattern and colour to create bold but sophisticated spaces. This illuminating masterclass, hosted by House & Garden editor-in-chief Tanya Buchanan, covers all aspects of incorporating pattern into interior spaces.
