House & Garden Room of the Year 2021 was announced at the Top 50 Rooms awards this week, and we are excited to share that we are the winners!
The living room from our Walsh Bay Penthouse received the prestigious award this week, beating out a stiff competition of talented local designers. This living room was part of a completely new design and fitout for a two-storey apartment. Interior architecture work included building a new set of stairs, which rise at the rear of the room. Curved walls, a built-in curved bench and cabinetry and fireplace create the illusion of waved movement throughout the home. New solid oak floorboards laid in a chevron pattern compliment the light walls. Finally, this soft, elegant look is completed with brand-new European furniture.
We are so honoured to have won the House & Garden Room of the Year 2021. This influential Australian publication is dedicated to showcasing quality design, and we are so happy to have been included.
Greg’s contemporary approach to interior design for this home marks a new stylistic era for the Australian designer. Some favourite details of the room include the subtle curved lines of the stairs, walls, fireplace and the long, low bench beneath.

A set of luxury towels in an elegant colour is the trick to elevating your bathroom décor. Its hard to argue with such logic. A mix-matched array of towels will only distract from other high-end design elements in your bathroom. On the other hand, using the same towel design in various shades for different bathrooms in your home will really elevate the cohesivity of your interior. For shared bathrooms, using the same patterned towel in two different sophisticated colours helps to keep a streamlined look. These are a few tips of the trade from industry-trusted designer Greg Natale, who uses his Astoria towels throughout his interior projects.
A best selling fan-favourite, the subtly patterned Astoria towel range by Greg Natale has now been extended to include four new shades: Blush, Dove, Navy, and Black. Luxury towels in different colours are a great addition to a neutral bathroom space. Made in Turkey from 100% cotton, the Astoria towels are thick and luxuriously soft to the touch.
We invite you to shop our Astoria towels via our website, along with other chic bathroom accessories designed by Greg Natale to elevate your personal sanctuary.
The best way to spoil a good pooch is with a chic dog bowl! Greg Natale’s brand-new ceramic dog bowls from our Metropolis collection come in two beautiful designs inspired by two great cities, perfect for the cosmopolitan puppy. If you and your dog are a trend-setting stylish duo, then look no further; Paris and Tokyo are what your pet needs to win Best In Show.
A new dog-owner himself, Greg Natale extends his love of pattern to dog-friendly dining. These ceramic dog bowls are Greg’s first and only pet products, and are designed for the Metropolis collection, which takes its inspiration from great cities of the world. Choose from the elegant black and white pattern of the Tokyo bowl, which also features on one of Greg’s best-selling rugs, or the sensationally stylish Deco-inspired pink print of the Paris bowl. Looking like a dog’s breakfast doesn’t always have to be a bad thing, and we are proving that, one chic dog bowl at a time. Whether you are shopping for your own pet as a means to express your love and devotion, or perhaps looking for a unique gift for friends and family, Greg Natale’s designer pet products are sure to be a welcome addition to any home.
I’ll never forget my first love. Those smooth, curvaceous legs, the sheer top … the minute I set eyes on them, I was lost. It was 1982, Dynasty was on TV, and Alexis’s desk with its glass top and curved tusk legs was the most enchanting thing I’d ever seen. It was the moment that set me on my first step to becoming an interior designer. Since then, there have been other loves. Pattern – you were one of my firsts, and I’ll never forget you. I still carry you with me everywhere I go. Colour, I’ll always stay true to you. Brass, you bring that special something to any room you’re in. Disco, you’ve got the best of my love, and I just can’t get enough.
Valentine’s Day is the perfect day for a little reminiscing and a lot of indulging. Treat yourself to a beautiful gift, treat a loved one – or, better still, treat your home, so all can enjoy it. Maybe a vase for flowers, a tray for chocolates, or a bowl for that treasured piece of jewellery. A little something that will have you singing, “I feel love!”
We hope you enjoy this Valentine’s Day surprise think-piece by Greg Natale. If you think he should give up his design career for a shot at spoken-word stardom, let us know in the comments! For those looking for a little inspiration this holiday, take a look at our Valentine’s Day gifting edit curated by Greg himself.
Designer dinner glasses to channel the iconic look of the late ’70s, because who doesn’t appreciate a stylish drinking vessel? Greg Natale’s Rubell glassware is designed to bring the party. With their strong silhouette and polished finish, these glasses look as if they’ve been plucked from a black-and-white image of Studio54. Out of Mick Jagger’s hand, perhaps, or Diana Ross, if you’re lucky.
If you’re an avid entertainer and self-professed party thrower, these dinner glasses are a guaranteed compliment-getter to impress your guests. The clean lines and pure geometry of Rubell’s design are what make them a cool classic for cocktail hour. Serve a Tokyo Highball (whisky and soda water, thank us later) in the highball glass, or a whisky on the rocks in the tumbler if the mood strikes. Dishwasher safe and sold in sets of six, they look great side by side. Available on gregnatale.com and our flagship store in Potts Point.
If you’ve ever wondered about the relationship between art and interior design, you’ve come to the right place. The perfect piece of art can completely transform a space. No stranger to the role art plays in interior design, Greg Natale often speaks what he considers a slightly controversial opinion; artwork should be chosen with the overall room in mind. Knowing this, the Australian designer has created a range of original fine art digital prints, or giclée’s, that are made to order. Each print is designed to bring a welcome burst of colour and pattern to your home.
All the works are graphic and bold, inspired by the fabulous forms of the 70s. They come in a variety of colour ways and patterns suitable for any space. The Catalyst, L’Avenue and Luna collections have been designed to be curated together.
The works are printed on 350GSM Hahnemühle archival cotton rag using acid-free archival inks. Prints come in your choice of unframed or with a timber frame in either black, white, silver or gold. Each work is embossed, signed, hand-numbered and limited to an edition of 50 per design.
Marble design is hot in the world of interiors right now, its impossible not to notice. Nothing beats the natural appeal of colourful stones featuring intricate veining. This innate artistry to marble lends itself beautifully to the sculpting of organic and striking forms. An avid supporter of incorporating marble into his designs, Greg Natale’s sensational marble tables blend the beauty of natural stone with function.
The Botta table, named after famous Italian architect Mario Botta, is a spectacular showcase of what can be achieved through marble design. With its playful asymmetry and alternating monochrome marble discs of its base, the Botta table exudes an air of enchanting surrealism. Crafted from solid pieces of honed Nero and Bianco marble, this monochrome masterpiece makes for a sensational first impression as an entry table.
A slightly more simplified example of marble design, Greg Natale’s Aldo side tables explore the intersection of line and colour. This architectural statement forms from two solid blocks of marble, crafted into strong cylinders and stacked into one another. Aldo is available in Nero and Bianco for a classic black and white pairing or Merlot and Nero for a slightly more moody result.
Finally, for those interested in something a little more understated, the Giorgio side table is a sleek, sophisticated way to incorporate marble design into your interior. Carved from a solid piece of Nero marble, Giorgio makes for an attractive side table that is a sculptural piece in its own right.

LURLINE BAY HOUSE | A SOPHISTICATED SEASIDE ABODE
A coastal palette gets an opulent interpretation through high-end fittings and finishes. Greg Natale worked as the interior designer and interior architect on this four-storey, four-bedroom oceanfront residence in Sydney’s picturesque Lurline Bay. An elevated take on beach house style, its’s sophisticated palette, luxe materials and thoughtful layout have been beautifully tailored to suit its seaside surroundings.
The space is imbued with a serene lightness of look and softness of feel, its palette of grey, blush and teal subtly echoing the colours of rockpools below. Polished plaster ceilings suggest the fluidity of water with their high-gloss finish, as if to mimic the look of light reflecting off a calm ocean. Warm texture comes into play through furniture and wallpaper, playing to our tactile senses. A travertine staircase and wall are highlighted by brass railings, making it a striking central feature across the four storeys, with brass and gold trims continuing throughout the house.

Wallpaper designs to redefine a room! Old-world structure meets new-world style with this beautiful collection of hand-printed silk-screen wallpaper by Greg Natale. Created in collaboration with Signature Prints, the Sydney based print company that produces boutique silk screen wallpapers, each wallpaper design explores the patterning of stone in both its natural and its worked conditions. The final result is a nuanced expression of how the material was employed by the ancient Greeks and Romans in their built environment. For a designer like Greg who uses stone in many of his projects, from marble to terrazzo and beyond, this collection presents an artful interpretation of the raw elemental beauty of natural stone.
“This collection has everything from graphic cobblestone allusions to pearly tonal marbling, and even heroic archway repeats. I am excited by the potential for this collection to redefine how we use our walls, and ceilings, to decorate our interiors.” – Greg Natale
Eight remarkable designs, each in four different colourways, explore a range of patterns, from structured, architectural motifs to natural lines resembling natural veining. Using a wide range of matt, pearlescent and metallic finishes for mesmerising visual effects, the Greco-Roman collection features sophisticated wallpaper designs to elevate your interior. We invite you to explore the entire collection via our website.
AT HOME WITH GREG NATALE | EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BELLE
When Greg Natale recently took Belle magazine on a tour of his apartment, it was a great chance to share some of his inspirations. Among the eclectic blend of vintage, contemporary and custom pieces and artworks, there’s a vibe of late ’70s nightclubs and disco glamour that takes its cue from the maroon walls and floors, mirrored surfaces and metal accessories. ‘Disco is my first memory,’ says Greg. ‘I’m obsessed with Studio 54. I love the mixed metals of its logo.’
This obsession drives a lot of Greg’s designs, with those mixed metals appearing in products from brushed platinum and gold bowls to shimmering patterned cushions. Want the same feel but a different finish? Try the bold colours and geometrics of lacquered French Art Deco-style boxes or a red marble bowl with a retro shape. Different eras that still channel a disco vibe and say you should be dancing.
A marble bowl may seem heavy and dated to some, but this isnt always the case. A vein of architectural inspiration runs through every Greg Natale piece, and our Niemeyer marble bowls are no exception. Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer celebrated the purity of form and the beauty of curves, and this collection gives a nod to his vision, overlaying it with the free-flowing beauty of marble.
‘I’m obsessed with Neimeyer’s buildings in Brasilia,’ says Greg. ‘You only have to look at his spectacular National Congress building, with its dual contrasting domes, to see where my thoughts were with this design.’
The Niemeyer Bowls are one-off creations available in-store only. You can find them in a range of different marbles, each colour soft and earthy to blend seamlessly onto any surface in your home. Visit our Flagship Store on Macleay Street to see the bowl in the brick-red Rosso stone, the elegant monochrome of Fiore, and the pale honeyed Travertine. Standing solo or in a group, they make a wonderfully sculptural statement. Be the proud owner of this one of a kind marble bowl.
If you are looking to order online, check out our current marble collections: the Polar accessories and the 1978 marble vases. Both collections can be purchased in-store and online.
