House & Garden Room of the Year 2021 was announced at the Top 50 Rooms awards this week, and we are excited to share that we are the winners!
The living room from our Walsh Bay Penthouse received the prestigious award this week, beating out a stiff competition of talented local designers. This living room was part of a completely new design and fitout for a two-storey apartment. Interior architecture work included building a new set of stairs, which rise at the rear of the room. Curved walls, a built-in curved bench and cabinetry and fireplace create the illusion of waved movement throughout the home. New solid oak floorboards laid in a chevron pattern compliment the light walls. Finally, this soft, elegant look is completed with brand-new European furniture.
We are so honoured to have won the House & Garden Room of the Year 2021. This influential Australian publication is dedicated to showcasing quality design, and we are so happy to have been included.
Greg’s contemporary approach to interior design for this home marks a new stylistic era for the Australian designer. Some favourite details of the room include the subtle curved lines of the stairs, walls, fireplace and the long, low bench beneath.

Designer dinner glasses to channel the iconic look of the late ’70s, because who doesn’t appreciate a stylish drinking vessel? Greg Natale’s Rubell glassware is designed to bring the party. With their strong silhouette and polished finish, these glasses look as if they’ve been plucked from a black-and-white image of Studio54. Out of Mick Jagger’s hand, perhaps, or Diana Ross, if you’re lucky.
If you’re an avid entertainer and self-professed party thrower, these dinner glasses are a guaranteed compliment-getter to impress your guests. The clean lines and pure geometry of Rubell’s design are what make them a cool classic for cocktail hour. Serve a Tokyo Highball (whisky and soda water, thank us later) in the highball glass, or a whisky on the rocks in the tumbler if the mood strikes. Dishwasher safe and sold in sets of six, they look great side by side. Available on gregnatale.com and our flagship store in Potts Point.
If you’ve ever wondered about the relationship between art and interior design, you’ve come to the right place. The perfect piece of art can completely transform a space. No stranger to the role art plays in interior design, Greg Natale often speaks what he considers a slightly controversial opinion; artwork should be chosen with the overall room in mind. Knowing this, the Australian designer has created a range of original fine art digital prints, or giclée’s, that are made to order. Each print is designed to bring a welcome burst of colour and pattern to your home.
All the works are graphic and bold, inspired by the fabulous forms of the 70s. They come in a variety of colour ways and patterns suitable for any space. The Catalyst, L’Avenue and Luna collections have been designed to be curated together.
The works are printed on 350GSM Hahnemühle archival cotton rag using acid-free archival inks. Prints come in your choice of unframed or with a timber frame in either black, white, silver or gold. Each work is embossed, signed, hand-numbered and limited to an edition of 50 per design.
Wallpaper designs to redefine a room! Old-world structure meets new-world style with this beautiful collection of hand-printed silk-screen wallpaper by Greg Natale. Created in collaboration with Signature Prints, the Sydney based print company that produces boutique silk screen wallpapers, each wallpaper design explores the patterning of stone in both its natural and its worked conditions. The final result is a nuanced expression of how the material was employed by the ancient Greeks and Romans in their built environment. For a designer like Greg who uses stone in many of his projects, from marble to terrazzo and beyond, this collection presents an artful interpretation of the raw elemental beauty of natural stone.
“This collection has everything from graphic cobblestone allusions to pearly tonal marbling, and even heroic archway repeats. I am excited by the potential for this collection to redefine how we use our walls, and ceilings, to decorate our interiors.” – Greg Natale
Eight remarkable designs, each in four different colourways, explore a range of patterns, from structured, architectural motifs to natural lines resembling natural veining. Using a wide range of matt, pearlescent and metallic finishes for mesmerising visual effects, the Greco-Roman collection features sophisticated wallpaper designs to elevate your interior. We invite you to explore the entire collection via our website.
AT HOME WITH GREG NATALE | EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BELLE
When Greg Natale recently took Belle magazine on a tour of his apartment, it was a great chance to share some of his inspirations. Among the eclectic blend of vintage, contemporary and custom pieces and artworks, there’s a vibe of late ’70s nightclubs and disco glamour that takes its cue from the maroon walls and floors, mirrored surfaces and metal accessories. ‘Disco is my first memory,’ says Greg. ‘I’m obsessed with Studio 54. I love the mixed metals of its logo.’
This obsession drives a lot of Greg’s designs, with those mixed metals appearing in products from brushed platinum and gold bowls to shimmering patterned cushions. Want the same feel but a different finish? Try the bold colours and geometrics of lacquered French Art Deco-style boxes or a red marble bowl with a retro shape. Different eras that still channel a disco vibe and say you should be dancing.
