Travel is a constant source of inspiration for Greg Natale’s designs, and even if travel may be out of reach for most of us at the moment, we can still dream about it. ‘I have some great memories of my last trip to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast,’ says Greg. ‘The shades of blue there are like nowhere else, and of course Sorrento is home to the hotel Parco dei Principi, designed by the wonderful Gio Ponti.’
Greg is a big fan of Ponti’s captivating geometric patterns, and the range of porcelain he’s curated from Richard Ginori 1735 means you can introduce a little Ponti magic to your home. Bring in more blues with soft furnishings, add some brass for shine, and finish with the textural appeal of terracotta-hued marble or travertine. Sea, sky and earth – the perfect mix.
AT HOME WITH GREG NATALE | EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BELLE
When Greg Natale recently took Belle magazine on a tour of his apartment, it was a great chance to share some of his inspirations. Among the eclectic blend of vintage, contemporary and custom pieces and artworks, there’s a vibe of late ’70s nightclubs and disco glamour that takes its cue from the maroon walls and floors, mirrored surfaces and metal accessories. ‘Disco is my first memory,’ says Greg. ‘I’m obsessed with Studio 54. I love the mixed metals of its logo.’
This obsession drives a lot of Greg’s designs, with those mixed metals appearing in products from brushed platinum and gold bowls to shimmering patterned cushions. Want the same feel but a different finish? Try the bold colours and geometrics of lacquered French Art Deco-style boxes or a red marble bowl with a retro shape. Different eras that still channel a disco vibe and say you should be dancing.

A vein of architectural inspiration runs through every Greg Natale piece, and our Niemeyer Bowls are no exception. Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer celebrated the purity of form and the beauty of curves, and this collection gives a nod to his vision, overlaying it with the free-flowing beauty of marble. ‘I’m obsessed with Neimeyer’s buildings in Brasilia,’ says Greg. ‘You only have to look at his spectacular National Congress building, with its dual contrasting domes, to see where my thoughts were with this design.’
Niemeyer Bowls are available in three different sizes and a range of sumptuous colours: the rich, dark Merlot, the brick red of Rosso, the velvety green Foresta, the elegant monochromes of Nero and Fiore, and the pale honeyed Travertine. I’m delighted to present my brand new collection of 12 gorgeous scatter cushions that present the perfect opportunity to easily and elegantly refresh your home.
Adding to our existing range of perenially popular decorative cushions, these all-new designs offer everything from geometric repeats to graffiti-like patterning.
I spent a lot of time developing my own textures for this collection, getting right into the construction of the fabrics – from meticulously interwoven jacquards to fine-embroidered designs to something more multi-layered: ink-on-linen with metallic embroidered spot detailing.
The result is a distinctive offering – perfect for use together as family sets, or hand-picked in contrast to one another for a dynamic interplay of colour and pattern.
It’s been nearly a year since we launched The Tailored Interior to Australian audiences so after a new cover design and almost thirty people across four countries and 8 months – I was thrilled to launch The Tailored Interior at four fantastic events across the USA and UK.
Over three weeks we enjoyed the hospitality of Jonathan Adler and his team at signings in his showrooms on Melrose in Los Angeles, SOHO in New York City and Kensington in London. I was also delighted to appear at Lepere’s showroom in The New York Design Centre on Lexington Avenue for a special meet and greet.

This recently completed project on Sydney’s lower north shore is a study in classical, warm layering.
Timber is a key feature of this handsome house, in the polished floors, the doors, frames and stunning cabinetry. Its warm tones lend a strength to rooms yet its treatment prevents it from appearing heavy – narrow furniture legs and bedposts keep it looking elegant, floating cabinets stop it from seeming too solid and gilt touches give it a glamorous edge.
Hues such as grey, taupe, terracotta and blue have a softening effect in some living areas, with bold reds and monochromes injecting energy into others. Rugs bring texture and pattern throughout.
The house is a triumph of layering, with a considered build-up of colours, textures, prints and pieces creating a rich, elegant and eminently livable space.
