In a bold confluence of influences, Greg Natale’s maximalist aesthetic meets Southwestern prairie sensibility at this country estate in Oklahoma. Spanning seven glossy pages, the designer’s second iteration of the sprawling property makes its international debut in House Beautiful. Part of an ongoing creative relationship between Greg and the owners, Oklahoma House reflects a distinctive design language developed over years of collaboration.
A decade after first designing the interiors of the barn-style residence, Greg Natale returned to oversee a 660-square-foot expansion. This latest chapter is expressive and eclectic — where strong visual impact and rich materiality are matched by thoughtful functionality. The original three-bedroom home now includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a new central living space. The interiors are dramatically transformed: what was once an equestrian-inspired retreat is now a globally inflected home, layered with visual intrigue and punctuated by local character.
To maintain cohesion across the 4,360-square-foot residence, the interior is grounded in its surrounding pastoral setting. The central living room acts as the family hub and entertaining space, positioned adjacent to a sage-stained kitchen. Anchored by this earthy green, terracotta reds complete a palette that echoes the prairie plains. Elsewhere, the mood deepens: merlots and dark timber tones envelop rooms with a cabaret-like sensibility. In the immersive primary suite, bold Italian character takes centre stage, complete with marble finishes and plush textures. Across the home, Greg channels the clients’ love of animal prints and pattern — a confident expression of his signature, pattern-on-pattern layering.
