Greg Natale’s gelato-coloured dining room from New York House won Best Use of Colour at the 2025 House & Garden Top 50 Rooms Awards! Designed for long-time clients, the room layers pastel tones into a space that is both playful and sophisticated.
Aficionados of design, the owners of New York House run an art school in Florence, Italy, and converted the lower level of their Manhattan townhouse into an art gallery. For their dining room, they envisioned a predominately pink-and-green palette, drawing inspiration from the maximalist interiors of Parisian bistros. Mint greens, blush pinks, and lemon yellows unfold throughout the space, creating a nuanced scheme that feels fresh and immersive. At its centre, a vintage Murano glass chandelier glows above the swirling, multi-coloured dining table, anchoring the composition with artistry and flair.
Soft mauves surface in festoon Roman blinds, a tonal artwork by Indivi Sutton, and chairs upholstered in our Cemento fabric. Our Ada timber flooring from the Bosco collection waves across the floor. Detailed mouldings and signature Greg Natale flourishes further enrich the space, underscoring the studio’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of colour in contemporary interiors.
“This project is a testament to the transformative power of colour,” says Greg Natale. “I wanted to create a dining room that was joyful and elegant. Colour draws people in, and it’s what encourages them to gather and linger.”
