Greg Natale has expanded his collection of objects for the home with a stunning new series of studded ceramic vessels. Channelling the electric energy and rebellious style of New York’s post-punk scene, the Debbie range pays tribute to the legendary Blondie frontwoman with its rock-and-roll audacity and effortless downtown cool. The vases, bowls and planters layer punk iconography over elegant forms, spiked with glittering gold or silver stud details and glazed in black, white or sage. Calling back to the gritty glamour of 1970s nightspot CBGB’s – where Debbie Harry rocked out in her irreverent fashions – the pieces meld functional design with a fierce attitude, making a bold style statement while mixing beautifully with Greg’s existing homewares collection.
Rounding out an exciting year, we closed 2022 with a pair of stylish soirées at the Designer Rugs showrooms in Melbourne and Brisbane. Co-hosted by Tanya Buchanan, editor-in-chief of Belle and House & Garden magazines, the events gathered a cool crowd of close friends and design cognoscenti to celebrate the launch of Greg’s latest book, The Layered Interior, and the New Wave collection of rugs. The Designer Rugs showrooms in Melbourne’s Richmond and Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley displayed eye-catching examples of the New Wave floorcoverings, which take inspiration from 1980s postmodernism, as guests pored over Greg’s lavishly illustrated hardcover tome, published by New York imprint Rizzoli. As the weather warms up it’s time to update your poolside style, made easy with Greg Natale’s signature style imbued on two fabulous beach towel designs. These beautifully patterned beach towels are inspired by Natale’s trips to Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
Available in two distinct designs, the repeat pattern of Sorrento and larger design of Positano conjure up the aesthetic of Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti, and his iconic work with pattern for the Parco dei Principi hotel in Sorrento in the ’60s.

Last Thursday, the annual House & Garden Top 50 Rooms awards were held at Nour in Surry Hills. I was thrilled to pick up the award for Best Bathroom for our Ashfield house.
Pink-tinged Volakas marble spectacularly finishes the main ensuite of a Victorian mansion in Sydney’s Inner West that’s been updated by Greg Natale. A dynamism pulses through it, thanks to its exquisite Gucci chinoiserie wallpaper and Greg’s signature Ponti geometric marble floor tiles. The handles, tapware and mirrors nod to the brass accents that appear elsewhere in the house, while the Kate Spade ‘Dickinson’ light ensures everything feels perfectly cohesive.
